This chotki was designed with the Passion in mind. As Jesus faced His Crucifixion, He fervently prayed to His Father to "let this cup pass". St. Luke, who was also a medical doctor, reports that Our Lord sweat drops of blood.

I chose golden colored glass pearls for the prayer beads, to represent the divinity of Our Lord, who had taken on the fragility of a human body. The three divider beads are teardrop-shaped bead of red glass, to represent the drops of blood, and are capped with smaller golden glass pearls. Between each prayer bead is a small red seed bead, to represent the blood as it starts to exude from the pores but has not yet collected into a full droplet.

Jesus sweat those drops of blood in anticipation of His suffering in the Crucifixion, in order to give us the Flower of Salvation, represented by the flower in the center of the red cloisonne cross. The cross bears gold details, and the chotkis is strung on gold Softflex wire.
