All chotkis are handmade by an American artisan with quality materials--each piece is a work of art. Prayer Rope Size Reference Strung chotkis are made with state-of-the-art beading cable. The cable is actually 49 strands of nylon-coated stainless steel wire with 28-35 pound test strength, but it remains extremely flexible--it drapes, bends and folds like silk cord. All crucifixes, crosses, rosary centers, and medals are hand cast by American metalsmiths from antique and vintage pieces in sterling silver and solid bronze then antiqued to restore the original patina. Component price is determined by age and rarity of original, size, complexity of design, and gram weight of metal when cast. |
