Finished Prayer Rope Size Reference

The overall size of a finished prayer ropes depends on the number and size (and shape) of the prayer beads and the number and size of spacer beads used. The size of the prayer beads is most often around 8mm but can be slightly smaller at 6mm to as large as 12mm. The prayer ropes pictured below, a 33 bead chotki (left) and a 50 bead chotki (right), were made with larger prayer beads, approximately 9mm, and use 3 spacer beads between each prayer bead. Prayer ropes with smaller prayer beads, or only one spacer bead, will be slightly smaller and shorter in length.
Wire wrapped prayer ropes are usually a little longer than those that are strung.
